Eden's Angel
I knew the old stories. The first man and woman had disobeyed, and so they had been driven out of paradise. An angel had been placed in paradise to guard the tree.
I never heard any stories saying he left the garden.
I went to find the tree, to see if it really was worth getting kicked out of paradise. I’d seen the Fountain of Youth, Atlantis, and the Holy Grail. This was the next big thing. It was the edge of the Earth and beyond. It was further than Davy Jones’ Locker. It was paradise.
Some people told me the Holy Grail and the Fountain of Youth were the same thing. If you drank from the Holy Grail, you wouldn’t die. If you drank from the Fountain of Youth, you wouldn’t die. But I’ve seen them before. The Holy Grail is an ugly brown wooden cup. The Fountain of Youth isn’t more than a pool of stale water in the middle of a cave in South America. Atlantis was less of a disappointment, but it wanted to remain hidden. So I ventured out for the Garden o

Hebrews 11:1-3
1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. 2 For by it the elders obtained a good testimony. 3 By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.

My Take:
If God can make the universe out of nothing, He can give us what we need out of nothing. If He loves us, He will give us what we need.

John MacArthur’s Take:
The faith described here involves the most solid possible conviction, the God-given present assurance of a future reality. True faith is not based on empirical evidence but on divine assurance, and is a gift of God.

Elders refers to all saints, both men and women, under the older covenant, a select few. God bears witness on behalf of these saints that they lived by faith and divine approval is granted to them.

God created the universe out of something which cannot be seen. There is the possibility that the invisible something was God’s own energy or power.

Greetings and Rules

WELCOME TO :icontake-up-your-cross: !

We welcome all you brothers and sisters in Christ! This is a group to spread and share God's love and Christ! All are welcome. Call us the mission outreach of dA! We'll accept any kind of art (anime, photography, cosplay, writing, journals, ministries, etc) as long as it's not yaoi, hentai, yuri, or any other type of erotica.

RULES :floating:
Please try to submit Christian-related artwork. This group centers around Christ. <3

TO JOIN :w00t:
Write your testimony within your request!
Elaborate on these points in your testimony:

† The moment you accepted Christ as your Savior

† How God has changed your life

† And anything else you feel necessary!

This is because we have decided, as admins, that this group should have a doctrine. Thanks!

OUR BELIEFS :reading:
•The Bible is the Word of God. From Genesis to Revelation
•There is only one God, yet there exists three simultaneous beings: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit
•Jesus Christ is the Son of the One true God who came to earth to be born of a virgin woman
•Jesus Christ suffered and died on a cross, but also suffered spiritually in order to save you and me from our sins
•Jesus Christ rose from the dead after three days in the grave
•Baptism is an act of obedience and not a requirement for salvation
•Salvation is obtained by grace, faith, and Christ’s death ―not by good works

If you or anyone has a prayer request, please post on this group's profile.

This group is fairly small, but we will grow it! Slowly but surely and with Christ's blessings ^^

When you say "God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit are One", I think you need to be a bit more specific than that.

There are plenty of heresies out there about the Godhead, such as Modalism, Unitarianism and Partialism. I myself have written a journal about the Godhead/Trinity.

I would rather you instead create a statement of faith such as this one

Your suggestion is a good one, even though you're example is a bit lengthy for our group.

I agree there's a lot of writing there, although I was thinking maybe creating a 'Statement of Faith' journal, and then linking to it for future reference. Or you could just do a shortened version of it - maybe Nicene Creed length, or perhaps not even that long; I just thought it needs a bit more clarification really. :)

Our doctrinal statement (seeing I am one of the co-founders and an ordained minister) is what we would call Baptistic.  The most important part of our doctrinal statement is that of what we believe the Gospel teaches.  The Nicene creed does not hold to the same doctrinal views as we do regarding the Gospel.  It is the doctrinal beliefs regarding the Gospel which makes the difference between us and other Christian groups.  Basically, you either know between you and God that you are truly Born-again or not; and it has to be according to what the Scriptures teach.  Most of us in this group go to Fundamental Baptist Churches:  whether in the US or in some other part of the world.  One of our members lives in New Zealand.  So, in general, I don't believe that we are going to change our doctrinal statement that readily.  I hope this explains some things about us.

Thanks for the heads up, brother. I guess I was just trying to be inclusive (1st Corinthians 1:10 in mind). But you're right. Perhaps we will work on posting a stronger statement of faith. The CARM Statement of Faith seems to be ideal! Thank you. You seem to be a great servant of Christ. God bless <3

We look at things from a Biblical/spiritual viewpoint.  We have to take the same viewpoint as God does through the Bible.  If the Bible is against it, we have to be against it.  If the person has accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior and repented of their sinful lifestyle, then we can take them in.  If the person is struggling in letting go of this sinful lifestyle after accepting Jesus Christ as their Savior, we can sometimes help them; if they really want help.

Satan is a real person to us.  And we know that he is always trying to get people trapped into such sinful lifestyles.  Any person who is not in Christ, is a bondslave to Satan.  But Jesus Christ can break those bonds if the person really wants to be free.  The Bible teaches that all people before God are sinners.  It makes no difference whether in Christ or not.  The only major difference is that true Christians know that they have been forgiven of God, and live in His  power to not continue in that former sinful lifestyle.  Are Christians perfect?  NO.  They are only Sinners who have been forgiven by God through Jesus Christ by their own choice.

I hope this helps a bit.  If you have further questions, I'll do what I can to help.  God loves you and your friend, and He doesn't want you and your friend to be slaves to Satan.  I was a slave to Satan for 20 years before I accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior--and that was back in 1975.   The Bible promises, "Ye shall know the Truth, and the Truth shall make you free."  It is never pleasant to see the truth about yourself from God's point of view as found in the Bible.  There's no room with God for opinions or debate:  with Him, it is absolute Law.  But His mercy and Grace, with His power allows a person to live and please God easier than trying to do it in your own strength.
